Totable Hope--The Music of Carol Carpenter

"Carol" = "Song of Joy." It's really my name, AND perfectly defines my mission--sharing totable hope, songs of joy to take along on life's journey. My songs come out of a very real need for music that keeps my mind and my heart focused on truth and on what really matters. I'm guessing you know that need, too.  

I get that life can be hard, so my music isn't trite. But I know that we'll never come through trials as victors if we lament our way through life. Focusing on what's less than ideal in our temporary circumstances is no recipe for resilience and makes no compelling case for comfort. The reality is that God is, indeed, faithful, loving, and able. And that's why the people who truly know Him will be known for real and resilient joy.

I have been writing songs for more than 40 years, and while one of the first was selected to be the featured song at my public high school graduation, I've shared my songs only rarely since then. I admit that was partly because of my pride, worrying that no one else would want to hear them.  Lately, though, I've been convicted that I didn't steward well what He gave me, and that it was never just about me anyway.  He gives generously, so that we can give to each other!  So, truly, these songs of joy are my creative calling, His gift to me, and my gift to you, with multiplied thanks back to Him.

This is what you get when you combine unshakable faith with a soaring heart and happy toes, often in spite of the circumstances.  I offer them trusting that our dear God will accomplish His purposes for you through the gift that originated with Him.
