Welcome

Welcome, friend!  This blog is created with you in mind.  If I could write a special note of encouragement to you, this would be it.  That's one of the reasons for this blog.

The other reason for this blog, and the one that drives the first reason, is this--I've devoted my life, and hence my blog, to making my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ famous for who He is and what He has done.  Advancing His reputation, inviting you to know Him, and encouraging you to trust Him is what Unsmotherable Delight is all about.  Unsmotherable Delight exists because His works, His ways, and His Word are too good to keep quiet!

You see, if I would tell my friends about a great recipe, a charming restaurant, or an intriguing book I know about, it wouldn't make sense to keep the most important relationship in my life a secret. When I discover something that I think people I care about would be interested in, I can't keep it to myself.  I wouldn't be a very thoughtful friend if I didn't at least mention something, and then let you decide what you want to do with it.

You'll find that this blog isn't really so much about me; instead it's about God and the life my God is living through me.  I’m only the topic in a tangential, peripheral sort of way.  He’s the cause; I’m simply one of the effects.  He fills me up, and it starts spilling over.  He's the real source of "unsmotherable delight."  He's the One who's worth reading about.

Sometimes Unsmotherable Delight is about a scripture that grips me, other times about a lesson I had to learn from my children, but always something meant to encourage your soul and build your trust in God.  From family to faith, with all the muddle in the middle, here you'll find faith-filled original songs, favorite scriptures, family stories, and even a little film we made, all designed to inspire and lift your spirit.  It's a place to be refreshed and to recharge your commitment to follow wholeheartedly after our worthy God.

I don’t have to tell you life is hard, but I am here to say to my dying day that God is good.  I wasn’t just born with a sunny disposition.  You just can’t drum up unsmotherable delight--but I am here to tell you where you can find it.

Hungry?  I invite you to make yourself at home here.

All for Him,

Carol

P.S.   In case it bugs you when people say God told them to do something, I won’t tell you He told me to do it.   If you really want to know why I’m doing this, take a peek at II Corinthians 1:3-5.  If you don’t know Jesus yet, you’ll say He’s too good to be true.  The fact is:  He’s too good to keep Him a secret.

Oh, one last thing--if you wonder why the name "Unsmotherable Delight", I'll tell you here.
